Samsung dominates 90% of shipments of mobile OLED screens: the rest is split between four Chinese companies
Samsung is the leader in display panels, and when it comes to smartphone OLED panels, its dominance is unchallenged.
At the end of last year, samsung Display had the largest share of OLED panel shipments on smartphones, 88.1%, according to Stone Partners.
In second place was EDO (Shanghai and glow) with 5.7 per cent, and Visionox with 5.6 per cent.Four to five are tianma and boe, but neither has more than 1%.
The agency also gave an estimate for the first quarter of this year, saying samsung shipped 61.6 million OLED smartphones, or 90.2 percent of the total.The top 2 to 5 companies were huigou, vignon, tianma and boe, with shares of 4.9%, 4.5%, 0.4% and 0.1%, respectively.
In fact, judging from the multiple snapdragon 865 phones released in the first half of the year, samsung's screen ratio is indeed very high.In addition to samsung's phones, which all carry their own AMOLED panels, the iPhone X to iPhone 11 Pro are samsung's biggest customers
